Job Description

The University of Findlay’s Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Department is home to a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program that is EHAC accredited, BCSP and IHMM approved.  We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Occupational Health Scientist, for a Visiting Assistant faculty position with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene. This position will join a growing department of 5 Full-Time and 2 Part-Time faculty, who have a combined 250 years of industry and teaching experience.

The instructional facilities are dedicated to industrial hygiene, ventilation, and environmental science, and faculty and student research labs. In addition, the All-Hazards Training Center, which provides training to thousands of industry professionals each year is uniquely partnered with our programs to provide additional certifications. The program is committed to student-centered education, professional development and scholarship, with a strong emphasis put on serving as a mentor and research support for undergraduate research fields.

The ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, EHS, or a Master’s with credentials and a minimum of 5 years of experience in related discipline and professional experience.

Teaching expectations include undergraduate and graduate core and elective courses in the area of Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Air Pollution, and Toxicology.  Professional experience, credentials, and/or teaching experience in the areas of Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology, and EHS is preferred.  A candidate who has a breath of knowledge in the field of Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability, will ensure our student and employer’s needs and interest are met, as the field is adapting to progressive laws and regulations.
